Mel’s Story

“But these pictures capture more than just sweet, happy moments together. These pictures capture a glimpse of the redemption taking place in my heart and on my walk in motherhood.”

Mel’s family lifestyle shoot produced more than a bunch of adorable pictures of her kids (well, it did that too). It captured moments of cuddles, laughter, tears and celebration. It captured HER redemption story.

“Before I was married I had no desire to be a mother or homemaker. I felt that having children would lead to a life that would be full of boring, mindless work that would leave me feeling unfulfilled and unsatisfied. Therefore, I worked hard to get a master’s degree in Speech-Languge Pathology so I could spend my time doing something important, challenging, thoughtful, and meaningful.

My work as an SLP is all of those things, but as I live out each day as a wife and mother, and I see these beautiful pictures that capture the everyday, mundane, and simple things in life, I cannot think of anything more meaningful, adventurous, or important as caring for, nurturing, encouraging, teaching, shepherding, instructing, and loving our chicos. I am incredibly grateful the Lord made me a mother and that he has used, and continues to use, my roles as a wife and mother to refine and redeem my heart and character. I could not be more thankful for these three adventurous chicos!”

“Addie, I am so thankful for you and the hours you spent carefully capturing each moment. I am grateful for your patience when someone was crying or one of the boys ran off to climb something! You made this mamma feel at ease as we spent the morning together capturing these little but powerful and important moments. I am thankful for you and the incredible artistic gift that you have shared with our family.”

thank you, mel, for the privilege of entering your home and capturing images of your redemption story
